YuXin Treasure Box

A 3×3 puzzle built around a hidden compartment. From the outside it looks and turns like an ordinary cube, but the body opens onto a hollow space inside — so the puzzle doubles as a small container.

The compartment is sized for a ring, a folded note or another small keepsake, which is what makes the Treasure Box a popular way to present a gift: whoever receives it has to work out how to open it first. It can be reused as often as you like.

The mechanism is a standard three-layer design, so any method you already use on a 3×3 applies here. Supplied in the printed YuXin box shown.
