MoYu 1x3x3 (Tiled)
One layer deep, three wide and three tall — a 3×3 face that can only rotate in a single plane. It looks trivial next to a real cube and it is not: with no third dimension to hide moves in, every turn shows, and the edge pieces have to be walked around the frame rather than cycled through it.
This is the tiled build — plastic tiles set into a black body instead of stickers. Nothing peels at the corners, the faces stay flat after months in a pocket, and the colours do not fade. Turning is light and quick straight out of the box, with rounded corner pieces so a half-finished move slides into place instead of jamming.
Sits between the 1x2x3 and the 2x2x3 in the same tiled cuboid family: the easiest one to hand to someone who has never solved a twisty puzzle, and the one most people finish unaided on the first try.
